Alf’s Service Centre opened it’s doors back in August 1983. This was literally a mom and pop shop. My parents, Alf and Sheila Tuba were owners, the mechanic, the book keeper, shipping & receiving personnel, customer service and they wore any other hats that were needed. Back then, they carried 4 lines of equipment and parts. Throughout the years, the business grew to 32 dealerships & my brother and I joined the business, truly a family affair. In 2014, Alf passed away and the business continued under Sheila and the children. Another change in management came in 2017 when I took the business over from mom. For 41 1/2 years, Alf’s Service has been a part of the small engine and ag industry. We have served Melville and the surrounding area with exceptional service, fair prices, a place where the coffee was always on, a chat or discussion could be had, a local gathering place for Alf and his coffee pals. This shop has been a huge part of my life, great friends have been made through the business. Customers have become like family. But as this chapter closes, a new one begins. Thank you to all who came through our doors and support the dream my parents had, at being business owners, their own boss and part of a community.
